Distribution warehouse Fort Lauderdale, FL
A warehouse where Wi-Fi stopped at the racking
Full-floor coverage on 14 access points, scanner downtime down to effectively zero.
Metal racking eight metres high does to a 5GHz signal roughly what a bank vault does. The previous installer had mounted four consumer access points to the ceiling and hoped.
We surveyed the floor with the racking loaded rather than empty, which changed the design substantially, and mounted fourteen units at aisle level rather than overhead. Uplink moved to fibre so the office and the floor stopped competing for the same connection.
The count that used to take two shifts now takes one. That paid for the whole job inside a quarter.
