FAQ

1. Turn it off If you grab your phone and it’s still turned on, turn it off as fast as you can. Keeping your handset on while its wet is a surefire way to short its circuit board and ruin it for good. If your phone’s screen was off and when it hit the water, but you’re not sure whether the phone powered off or the screen is just blank, see if you can wake it by quickly pressing the power button. Should your phone wake up, shut it down immediately. If it doesn’t wake up, keep it off. 2. Dry it off Now that your phone is off and cleaned, you’ll have to dry it off. If your handset has a removable battery or removable microSD card, take it out. Similarly, if your phone has some kind of port cover or even a removable back panel, open it up to let your handset air out. 3. Don’t blow dry it Do not try to dry your phone with a blow drier. The heat from the drier could damage your handset’s internal components permanently.
Find My iPhone is a service that comes free with every iOS device and Mac computer, and it allows you to track your iPhone, whether it was lost or stolen. Of course, it only works when the phone is on and it has a signal, so if your phone gets stolen and the thief was smart enough to turn off the phone or put it in Airplane Mode, Find My iPhone won’t work, but it’ll at least give you a fighting chance. Here’s how to use it. Head to iCloud.com and log in using your Apple ID information. You’ll be greeted with a handful of apps arranged similarly to how your iPhone home screen looks like. Click on the Find My iPhone icon and you’ll be taken to a full-screen map with dots representing where your various Apple devices are located (including Mac computers, if you have any). You can click on Devices at the top to view all of your Apple devices, and when you select your stolen one, you’ll have the same three options as the Find My iPhone app: Play Sounds, Lost Mode and Erase iPhone.
Before you do anything else, make sure your computer is clean and dust-free. If you've had it for more than a year, chances are it's built up some dust on the fans and heatsinks, which will make it run hotter (and thus louder), so grab a $5 can of compressed air and clean that sucker out. When you're done, you may find that it's gotten a little quieter already.
You can depending on a couple of factors: Does the digitizer still work?  Meaning, does the screen still react to all touches in all areas of the screen.  A broken screen can result in "dead spots," which may render the device useless. How bad is the crack?  Is it completely shattered so you can't see anything?  Does the cracks lift up at any point so you might snag your fingers when sliding across the screen?  Obviously, if you answered yes to any of these questions, you're probably best off trying to get it repaired or getting a new one. If it's not that bad, you might consider buying a decent screen guard to help hold the broken pieces in place and protect your fingers from any loose glass.  Assuming that works, you should still be able to use your phone without issue for as long as you want!
Step 1 Close any Internet windows you have open. If one of the pop-ups won't close without you clicking "OK," do not click on it. Press your "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Delete" keys simultaneously and click "Start Task Manager." Click the "Applications" tab, click on the name of any open windows, and click "End Task." Step 2 Update your antivirus software to make sure you have the current virus definitions. Step 3 Restart your computer and hold down the "F8" key on the reboot. This will initiate Safe Mode, which should shut down the virus temporarily, since the system only runs on vital programs. Step 4 Scan your computer with your antivirus software while in Safe Mode. Delete any files that are found to be viruses. Step 5 Restart your computer normally and rescan the computer to make sure the virus has been completely eliminated.
